For This Week

Guest in the Pulpit - March 14

Pluralism As a Spiritual Practice
with Rev. Bruce Taylor, guest speaker.
As religious liberals, not only are we are called to tolerate various religious perspectives: we are challenged to actively explore differences, to learn from one another, and risk the possibility of change. Our Principles and Purposes provide a creative space in which to practice the kind of authentic pluralism we would like to see in the world. To the extent that we come to know and respect the "other" in our midst, we shall achieve a deeper unity.

For Your Information

Aesthetics Committee

In light of the discussions over the past few years regarding pushpins on bulletin boards the Aesthetics Committee has placed a demo model of a board that doesn't use pins at the back of the sanctuary. Be gentle with it as this board is only temporarily secured and if we use one we will secure it more firmly. It will only hold single sheets of paper so you can't put up documents with multiple pages in one spot but most of what we use is single sheets. Please take a look at it and let us know what you think.

2010 Boston Pride Parade

a color illustration which is a combination of beads one hangs from a doorway and a decorative shower curtain with hearts and rainbow colors Mark your calendars!! The Boston Pride Parade is scheduled for June 12, 2010. We hope we will have a strong marching group this year. Everyone is welcome. We are also looking for two Pride Parade Marshalls. The Marshalls serve as the primary contact between the Pride Parade and our Congregation. The Marshalls are required to attend one of three scheduled orientation meetings: Wednesday May 12th, Thursday May 20th, or Friday May 28th all of the meetings will be held from 6:30 to 8pm location TBD. If you are interested please contact Chris Weis or Christine DiSaia. For more information on the Pride Parade, see www.bostonpride.org . Happy Pride!

Spring Festivus 2010 with Hearthside CUUPS

Celebration of Spring with Arts, Crafts, Readings and Ritual
March 20th 2010
Craft Faire in the Dickson Room from 10 AM to 4 PM.
Ritual will be held at 6:30 PM in Bolles Hall.

Ostara (1884) by Johannes Gehrts. The goddess flies through the heavens surrounded by Roman-inspired putti </wiki/Putto>, beams of light, and animals. Germanic people look up at the goddess from the realm below. Taken from Wikipedia.org Everyone can agree that it has been a VERY long winter without much of a spring having been seen. The weather has been anything but welcoming of the season but it is indeed coming!

Hearthside CUUPS would like to invite you to come join us at the church as we celebrate Ostara with local artisans, crafters and talented Readers from around the North Shore area.

Admission is free to the event. There will be tables set up for the children as well. There will also be beverages and snacks being served.

All of the vendor table donations and a portion of the beverages/snacks will be going towards CUUPS and our children's Changelings program.

Please set this date aside and come join us for a day of shopping, browsing and have a reading done.

Blessings,
Donna Hearthside CUUPS
