Upcoming Worship TopicsJune 8: "Religious Education Sunday" Led by Denise Regan. An exciting Sunday to celebrate Children’s Religious Education. The children will have an opportunity to share what they have learned throughout the year and to display their many talents. June 15: "Flower Communion" An intergenerational service with Rev. Marjorie Matty and the Smiths will lead our choir in song as well as welcoming in the summer. Please bring a flower with you. Worship starts following the Pancake Breakfast which starts at 9 AM. begins at 10 AM June 22: "Animal Blessing" Animals serve very important parts in our lives as our family and our pets and sometimes as our safety nets. We love them unconditionally and they deserve a day that is especially for them! Please bring with you your treasured pet or pets to have them blessed in our own sanctuary and hear music and stories that will warm your hearts if not theirs. Our only request is that these loving creatures of ours please be crated/leashed for their own safety and that of others. In the afternoon there will be a fundraiser for South Shore Ferret Care upstairs, in Bolles Hall, to start at 1 PM. There will be many furry creatures to delight ones heart and mind and all proceeds will be going to help with their tremendous vet bills and care costs. Diane Wall runs this spectacular program and has been a wonderful foster mom to so many abandoned, abused and neglected ferrets. We want to be able to as a community give her recognition for her hard work and help to support some of the outstanding bills that she still pays for the wonderful care her animals receive. So we welcome you to attend this event but ask that your precious pets not join you at this time. June 29: "Stepping Into the Wind" Led by Kara McGarigal Getting to the point in our journey where we move past our comfort zone and explore the inner self that we ran from our whole lives. July 6th: "The Year of Living Biblically" Led by Laura Randall Journalist A.J. Jacobs spent an entire year trying to live out the instructions of the bible literally. The results of this extreme experiment were not what he expected. What can UU's learn from Jacobs' unusual spiritual odyssey? July 13: Led by Dave Tutko Preaching debut at First Universalist: "A Spiritual view of John Lennon's life, music and teachings." July 20: "Simply Pray" Led by Joyce Prior Drawing from the book "Simply Pray: Modern Spiritual Practice to Deepen Your Life" written by Erik Walker Wikstrom, we will discuss an easy-to-use modern prayer practice free from any particular theological orientation. This practice utilizes prayer beads and you'll leave the service with your own set. July 27th: "Keeping The Book" Led by Tom Wickers The Buddhist way to enlightenment.
